Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PUB (“Pick Your Ball”, “PUB”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our website at pickyourball.com and our mobile applications on Google Play and the Apple App Store (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account & profile information you provide: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, city, profile photo, dominant hand, and your DUPR ID and skill ratings (if you choose to add them).
  • Authentication information: we sign you in using a one-time code sent to your email, or through Google Sign-In. When you use Google Sign-In, we receive your basic profile details (name, email, profile picture) from Google.
  • Tournament activity: the tournaments and divisions you register for or mark interest in, your team and partner details, and match results and standings.
  • Payment information: tournament payments are processed by our payment provider, Razorpay. We receive confirmation of the payment and a transaction reference, but we do not collect or store your full card, UPI, or bank details.
  • Technical & usage data: basic device and log information (such as app version, device type, and error logs) used to operate and improve the Service.

2. How we use your information

  • Create and manage your account and profile.
  • Register you for tournaments and divisions, form teams with your chosen partners, and seed and display standings.
  • Process tournament entry payments and send you related confirmations.
  • Communicate with you about registrations, schedules, results, and important service updates.
  • Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Tournament organisers: when you register for a tournament, the organiser can see the registration details needed to run it (such as your name, contact details, division, partner, and payment status).
  • Other participants: your display name, team, seeding, and match results may be visible to other players as part of public tournament listings and standings.
  • Service providers who process data on our behalf: Supabase (secure database and hosting), Razorpay (payment processing), Google (sign-in), and DUPR (skill ratings). Each processes your data only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal reasons: where required to comply with applicable law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.

4. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

5. Your rights and choices

  • Access & update: you can view and update most of your profile information directly within the app.
  • Delete your account: you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing abhinay@pickyourball.com. We will delete or anonymise your data except where we are required to retain it by law. Some information tied to completed tournaments (for example, historical results) may be retained in anonymised form.
  • Withdraw consent: you can stop using the Service and request that we stop processing your data, subject to legal retention requirements.

6. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls at our hosting and database provider. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International users

We are based in India and process data there and with our service providers. If you access the Service from another country, you consent to your information being processed in India and other locations where our providers operate.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
